Taking it to the Streets 2002
The Doobie Brothers... Clear Lake.. Two wheels and open roads. Sounded good to me. Since we weren't able to make it to the Four Corners thing this year? We figured that we could find plenty of "things" to do locally. Hollister Steve took the initiative to grab us some tickets and rent a house for the weekend on Clear Lake in the town of Nice. The tickets were for the "Poker Run" and the concert on Saturday night. The Poker Run was kind of weird. It was the first Poker Run that I have been on where you didn't stop at bars to get your cards. They had us stopping at K-Marts; Grocery Stores; Motels... Maybe Konocti Harbor wanted to keep us all sober and thirsty for when we ended up back at their place? It was cool though... None of us won; but Charlie got three twos. I got my usual crappy poker hand. But it was a beautiful ride around Clear Lake. Kind of hot... But heck; it is Summer time (right?). The Concert was great. Eric Martin was the first band and they rocked. Foreigner was up next... You never know what to expect when you go see a band from the 70's... But Foreigner kicked butt. And of course the Doobies always but on a great show (especially since Tommy Johnston came back). We had the house until Monday morning.. So we were able to get allot of riding in. And it is always great to hook up with the "Crew".
